The Journey Part 1: From Adam to David

With mentor • 15 lessons • 115 students

Welcome to the Al Massira course.

Al Massira is a journey with the prophets through the Bible. We start in the beginning with Adam and Eve and discover the message of the prophets so that we get to know who the Messiah is.

The full course consists of 37 lessons, divided into three parts. This first part has 15 lessons, each with a short video of about 10 minutes, followed by some multiple-choice and open questions. You will get a personal mentor who will give feedback to your answers and to whom you can ask any personal question that you may have. Your mentor will usually respond to your lessons in 24-48 hours.

Before beginning the course, we invite you to watch a film of 20 minutes in which we introduce the concept.

Here are two questions for you to think about and answer for yourself:

1)     Which questions are burning in your heart?

2)     Do you think there are answers to these questions?

Let us now look at what the Bible is all about, how it came into existence and why it can be trusted today.

Here are some questions for you to answer for yourself. The correct answers are given when you do the first lesson of the course.

  1. How could a book written by so many people, in different languages and over a period of so many ages, really be so consistent? (=LG p102 Q2 #2)
  • It’s a miracle from God

  • It happened by accident

  • The arrangement was a clever job by the Jews

  • The arrangement was a clever job by the Christians

  1. The Bible can be trusted because …
  • It is what the Christians believe

  • God protected His Word

  • The Bible is not trustworthy

  • All of the answers are correct

  • None of the answers are correct

  1. In Matthew 24:35 the following saying of Jesus the Messiah is recorded: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” According to Jesus, do you think the Bible could become corrupt?

Now it is time to begin with lesson 1 of the al Massira journey with the prophets.

We advise you to do no more than 1 or 2 lessons per day. This will allow you to think deeply about the spiritual content of the lessons, and to develop a relationship with your mentor to talk about your questions and your spiritual life. It works best if you use several weeks to go through the entire course.

We hope you enjoy the course, and that it will help you draw closer to God!
